Originally built and operated as Seward’s Hardware and Plumbing in the late 1800s, the building at 35796 NY 10 has always been a staple for the town of Hamden. Over the years, people have visited for everything from shooting at the archery range to picking out penny candy and in more recent years, a good cup chili and local farm products. Re-opened as the Hamden General Store in May 2021, the hope is to serve those living near by as well as those passing through. As a central point in Delaware County, we aim to be a great place to meet a friend for coffee, a resource for the staples, a store where you can try new things, and a place to pick up outstanding local products.
